Depends what your after mate,sport or results,sport it has to be maggot,worms,or powerbait There are other methods of course

If you get some moon light you cant beat a silver spinner its deadly at night! Or you can tape a night light( those rod tip green toxic things) to a hevy tube fly works well on swollen rivers to.

Other than that big fresh lobb worms are hard to beat and leave 'em long and a little slice at the ends to let the juce out lovly! and if your using barbless hooks use a single maggot to stop the worm wriggling its way off the hook. Tight lines and let use know how you get on.

Like someones already said, big fat juicy lobworms they'll take them when they won't touch anything else.

i no feck all about fishing but a lad told me about vanilla essance, i used it on grubs and worms but still got no results! .

Tried many baits this is by far the best we have used best result to date was 72 in 1 hour 2 rods

never got near that without aniseed

Sounds well good pennymeadow i'll have to invest in some of that lol, what technique do you use just float fihsing with a snap lite? Cheers Joe

worms will catch both

also most places dont allow powerbait and maggots. and i dont think bread is allowed anywhere for trout

i use power bait,bread or sweetcorn with a bubble float with a hole melted in just big enough for ya snap lite. or some times on the bottom with worm pumped up with a syringe then when its just coming light get your spinners out :ph34r:
