rangers 0 Posted June 8, 2009 Report Share Posted June 8, 2009 just spoken to the rspca and they have moved my ferret on to a rescue in peterborough and bruce and elaine have him at the moment. has anyone had any dealings with them? will they charge me to get him back? waiting to hear back is like if its a rescue they will only ask for a small donation mate. dj.chapman 0 Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Share Posted June 8, 2009 whatever next, after a full day of ringing around about 4 different rspca shelters and 3 ferret rescues i have now found out he has been taken to march near cambridgeshire, woman asked me to ring back in 20 mins cause she was driving now i cant get through will i ever get my ferret back if not i will go there with all guns blazing Quote Link to post

No im not saying that they should not give him back as they should. Just purely pointing out that sadly there is no stray law for ferrets ( eg stray dogs/cats you have to legally hold for 7 days with ferrets you can do with them what u please ) However most rescues are very good and do hold them for 7-10 days to allow an owner to find them. Most rescues would much rather the ferret went back home to the owners be it a working or pet home Really pleased you have found him and well done for driving so far to go and get him Edited June 8, 2009 by shadowz Quote Link to post
lurcher lass 9 Posted June 8, 2009 Report Share Posted June 8, 2009 hey mate sorry to hear about this maddness do you have a neice or nephew, sons or daughters to say its a pet that they really adore, play the heart cords a tad, my veiw is although realistically the rspca have no right to deny you your ferret tis still better to be safe then sorry, play the emotions of the person on the phone/behind the desk though don't over do it hey thats what i'd do, best of luck mate, please let us know what happens for future reference, cheers take care lurcher lass x x x Quote Link to post
dj.chapman 0 Posted June 8, 2009 Author Report Share Posted June 8, 2009 Well went to collect him and the people at the rescue where only too pleased to give him back to me. real friendly bunch of people, even gave me 2m of pipe to put in the court and did not want a penny for it. top notch. he is now back in his hutch having a sleep, he went mad when he saw me though. oxfordblue 0 Posted June 9, 2009 Report Share Posted June 9, 2009 Never had any problems with the rspca returning lost ferrets i have found over the years they are only to glad to give them back and never been asked if pets or work them Ihave a hob ferret who can climb a 6foot fence in as many seconds got out phoned rspca got him back in ahour Your ferret get him back Quote Link to post
