alrite mate, most people use jills because of their size but iv got a small hob that is my best worker so its up to you really,i would never just have one as they are very sociable animals and like to curl up together etc (apart from when the jills have kits)its non ov my buisness but if you have alredy got 2 how come you need more?not that i can say anything because i have 17 at this present moment :icon_eek: but really 2 jills is ideal for just doing a bit of ferreting.atb

I'd go for a snipped hob to bring your jills out of seasonand he wont mark them up or worry two so much as he would one and three ferrets a good number for big sized burrows

so out with the old and in with the new

so your getting rid of two and keeping two, because you did'nt have the time to tame them up :hmm: any age ferrets can be tamed, if handled enough

and what of the two "old" ones, tell the new owner they are biters, or knock them on the head

I think it depends greatly on the ferrets , for example i have had ferrets here over the years who just liked there own company & i dont believe in making ferrets live together if one of the charges isnt happy it causes stress to all there cage mates & to them, play it by ear & treat every ferret as an indervidual

I am not a fan of big groups of ferrets being housed together either i think its more difficult to monitor them & any problems that may arrise , imo much better to have several small groups that way you pick up on stuff much easier , its all to easy to buy/build a huge enclosure & fill it with a dozon ferrets , but its whats going on within the group that size that gets missed sometimes , also i thing the spread of disease can be an issue in larger groups , keep your groups to a handfull & you may well strike the ballence right physically & mentally for your ferrets ;)

i didnt know that you could tame them at an old age and dont forget lads im all new to hunting i dont know these things as good im a bigginer.

stick with the ones you have got mate,i had a hob from a rescue that you couldnt get near,he bit a hole in my pals ear,we called him b*stard because of it but now he is daft as a bollock, like a puppy.loves to be handeled and a real character, turned him round in about 2 months and it didnt take much,10-15 mins a day playing, hard to belive now that he could ever bite anyone.atb
