proofing of the pond with netting or overhead wires is the most effective long term measure.

 

this species must not be shot except in extreme circumstances and then only after consultation with, and the issue of a license by, the relevent agriculture department, licenses are issued on the basis of reinforcing scaring measures, not reducing local populations

didn't really want to cover with net or mesh but looks like i'm going to have to if its the only way hopefully its had its fill and stays away

i actually like watching them from the back garden fish on the river bank where i live but cant afford to keep restocking the pond to to watch it feeding on my fish, thought there might have been a way to scare or discourage him
