Mitch 0
Hey guys, I havent been out ferreting for a while, but i though it would be good to get away and give it a go this weekend. So i chucked the ferrets on the ute and headed off to a nice little property with a few bunnies kicking about. Was a good day, but very windy and i noticed alot of the rabbits would not bolt. And we missed a few because of this, in some locations we could not dig but when we got the chance to It was worth it for another rabbit. Took one of my mates out and he did really well, even helped me gut them so i was happy with taking him out. We got to the first set, which was a rather tricky one underneath a slab of concrete, we got 1 bolt and the ferrets killed another. But lucky we did not get a lay up as we coaxed my Jill out with another dead rabbit at the hole which was good. You can see the concrete there, it also makes netting up a bitch because there is no where to put the peg, Thinking of it now, i shouldve used the net upside down with the peg in the hole?? Ahh well i guess its just down to experience to remember these things. There we are nice bolt, nicley netted. Another nice hole although no boltin from this one, Ahh well, it was going to happen sooner or later. I have not dug this far before 3ft and i was not bang on with my locator. The ground was really soft and the probe was hard to use. I guess i may be abit better when i get my Mk3 and practice more, I did notice the reveiver picks up from the top and the bottom. So when i put it in the hole and pointed it around i found my self digging away from the ferret. If this makes sense, But i went back up top and found where he was and then i new which direction to go. Someone has been working hard!!!! Nice bag great fun, good to be out and about. Nice UTE! cheers people Quote Link to post
