arcticgun 4,548
Some fantastic saluki's on show here lads This is my bitch Cassie, she is a saluki x, loads of early pace and an excellent catcher, loads of stamina, hunts up well in the bush, works well with my terrier and the other lurcher, runs and courses well off the slip and early results on the lamp where encouraging. Most of all though I enjoy watching her hunting in daylight. She has taken her fair share of rabbits for a pup, she shows interest in everything quarry wise. She was stubborn to train at first, severely tested my patience, until I started working with her on her level, since then she has come on excellent. Excellent dogs are saluki's and saluki x's IMHO, mine works loads of different terrain from small fields to stony quarries and has no problems catching, very strong and robust, excellent feet, she also uses her nose well, very clever hunters are saluki's, not the lazy ploddders I was lead to belive, also I was told they are only suited to 'big land' this I have found untrue so far with mine. Regarding the crosses with greyhound, I saw three others out of the same litter as my bitch at a show a couple of weeks ago, and they all look well different one looked like a rough haired lurcher, which you have to admit mine doesn't at all. atvb Richard Quote Link to post

Out of interest does that statement refer to the few lines of saluki available in the uk? Ive looked at the desert types on the net and they vary greatly in appearence to uk 'cruise' type dogs and other uk lines, atvb Richard Quote Link to post
jigsaw 11,863
yeah guys sometimes i wonder myself .The sire I never saw but I was told he has taken lots of game .My mate is a dead straight guy and a close friend.I know hes truthfull in what he says. The dam is in Tipperary but for reasons I cant explain I cant enquire about the breeding. The info I need must come from my mate.Anyway next year I'll see if shes up to it or not.Salukixlad, your right your not being funny Nice dogs guys.looking forward to reading of your exploits with them next season.
