wsimonw 0
hi all, im thinking of building ben(black lab) a new/bigger kennel and as he's in the old one for a while on his own ( im at work) would it be better for him to have a buddy in with him (might not be another gundog, maybe a whippit or terrier) cheers simon Edited June 7, 2009 by wsimonw Quote Link to post

Guest TERRIERCENTRAL
i would say it would be better to have another dog to keep him company i have 3 in mine so i carnt se it doing any harm atb Quote Link to post
ulverston moocher 60
I am no expert mate but I think it would be ok and it would be a bit of company for the lab but he might not appreciate being tormented by a pup and might result in fighting a bitch might be a better option because there would be less chance of fighting but if you socialise them well they should be fine hope that helps a bit mate atb with what ever you decide. the_stig 6,614
is he o.k. on his own ? how old is he ? is he a working dog ..? my mates got a working springer he`s up and out with him early in the morning early evening and then a swift walk about 11ish at night he`s fine on his own i think he`s around 3 yr old now been in this routine since a pup - if you think he really needs a mate i`d forget a terrier . kennelling 2 dogs can bring you all sorts of problems a lot would depend on the nature of your dog and the new introduction .. lets hope you get a little bit more advice on the subject .
