spanielman2150 0
u basically just copied my post on the same section about springers been the most adaptable dogs
kingkeeper21 2
id try and stop him chasing rabbits and hares matey because if your going rough shooting you dont want the dog that far in front of you and if he starts chasing a rabbit or hare he can put things up and your no where near to shoot them. if you go beating and your dog does it the keeper will not be very happy with you either. Guest MickyB
Hi KX100, My first dog was a springer, he worked until he was 12 years(and i mean hard work, on the grouse moors etc) I did train mine to work close in, and not give chase, as I was very much into shooting etc, but it sounds to me that any spaniel would have a great time with you, hunting all sorts with very few restrictions! Mate, as long as the dog does you proud, then your winning... spaniels are great dogs, will take to any form of hunting, any quarry, and will not stop working until you head home! Good luck with it Happy hunting
