j davies 8
Been told that hay can cause them to overheat and that using sawdust can cause respiritory problems and that i should be using a dust free bedding. I've tried pet shops and all they sell are hay straw and sawdust. I've found some wood based pellets and they are expensive so was looking to see if there was anything online. Thanks you can get shavings from the pet shop not sawdust and use straw not hay you can also get that to its not the expensive. as for some people useing shredded paper the prob with that is it does hold the damp at night and the ferrets get cold. some people dont think this but they should get hold of it in the morning it feels damp Quote Link to post
Cold Ethyl 63
I use dust extracted wood shaving from pet shop and hay or straw in this weather they get less in the winter i pile it in to ensure theyre warm enough. As someone said they can move if theyre too hot last year quite often found the ferrets in the run in the open sleeping on concrete.Didnt do them any harm and your other option is hamster bedding stuff but that wont be cheap considering you would need to use at least one bag each time.Mine use the litter tray too with the wood based cat litter you get @£10 for 30 litres lasts the ferrets and three cats over a month Quote Link to post
