Good numbers here, stable or increasing populations in most of my areas, but I do know several places I cover, where hares are no longer present... with differing reasons for each.

Same here, a good number of them, infact there has been a incline in numbers over

the last 2 years.

There are many Buzzards. A nice bright sunny day will produce plenty of thermals to see these birds soar

effortlessly into the sky.

Wonderful.

Thirty odd years ago when I was a youngster, it didn't matter where my dad took me fishing, there were always hares to be seen in the big fields (Aberdeenshire). I can't remember the last time I saw a hare round about here now, other than up beside Braemar.

I think the biggest enemy of a healthy hare population are foxes.

Spot on Michael, foxes decimate leverets, atb NID.

I've found more hare carcases round cubbing earths than rabbits round here.

Anybody know much about hare conservation? What things can be done to help local populationsn etc. Round my way we are not short of them but in some areas there are very few. Obvious things like, predator control and different farm management practices, but what else?
