pernod 466
Hi there all, I have been lurking in the sidelines for a few weeks just reading a few posts etc. good site by the way. What is the score with the replies/comments in the for sale section ' if only i was closer, or if only you wasn't so far away i would have it off you for sure'. Does hardly anyone drive, or is the forum full of kids. Admittedly I have not bought a dog for a few years, but i thought nothing of driving a couple of hundred miles each way to get the right terrier pup. Sorry for my first post being a bit of a rant, but that type of crap gets on my t#ts, if people are genuinely interested they should say so, but the ones with the mentioned comments are just tyre kickers and picture wanters. Cheers for now Pernod

jigsaw 11,875
i agree,i drove to rosslare,+3hrs,got on the ferry and then drove 2+hrs to get my lurcher pup.on the way back i got into a spot of bother when the car broke down, only by the grace of god did an AA repair man turn up to have his lunch break in the same lay by i was stuck.after he repaired my car for free i might add(he refused money)and then proceeded to drive to the ferry and then drive home.A total of 31 hrs travelling.I wont even go into the cost of it all If you are really wanting something you'll travell anywhere for it I reckon. Simoman 110
Yep, I agree. Anyone with an ounce of sence wont mind travelling for the right dog. And to answer your question, yes lots of tyrekickers here............
skycat 6,173
I drove for 8 hours to get a pup: admittedly took the scenic route LOL. IMO people who bleat on about 'wish you were closer' are simply spouting off: even a kid can get on a train to see a pup and if they can't afford the transport then they're unlikely to do the dog properly even if they do buy it. PeakOil 352
A two hour drive on the motorway is the most I will usually do, unless it's for something I really want / like.
Sighthound 49
I agree with everyone and am glad I am not the only person who gets irritated by it. Even if it is too far either through no transport or lack of money why bloody mention it
