what scope?

i've asked this alot recently and am still undecided but....

 

you have exactly 500 pounds to spend on a scope, needs are;

 

target turrets

parallax adjustable.

 

it'll be for target shooting, lamping and stalking.

 

any suggestions?

What kind of distance are the targets?

 

I'd say Nikon Monarch, but the elevation adjustment is lacking for long range. Otherwise they fit the bill well - bright, clear optics and well made.

skys the limit. well actually my permission is. i have spot on the permission where i can shoot to around 700 yards so in time i guess i'd like to shoot at that distance

ok an update, i have the oppurtunity now for a zeiss conquest 6-20x50 for $928 which works out at £560. i can also get the leupold mounts and base for an extra $43 so is it worth spending that little bit more. ive heard that optically they are the best in that price range. if so im ordering it today.

 

whats the verdict?

another update. i wasnt able to get a zeiss conquest shipped to the UK for less than £700 which is well out of my budget so i went for a bushnell elite 4500 6-24x50SF which was within my budget. thanks for the help MR L

That'll do you fine. You may find you need more elevation to get to 700, but being a Remington you simply buy a 20 MOA base and job done

the base should be around 100 stg or around that, i'd still go zesis conquest, i cannot praise this scope enough for a 1 inch tube clarity is excellent,

its also light, positive rotation, good general mag for a bit of everything.
