Anyone drink Lapsang Souchong tea?

I have never tried it, is it nice ?

More important, does it have any " substances " in it ...... sounds like it does with that name

No, the Lapsang Souchong tea is often referred to as "Russian Caravan"

The name refers to the long, overland journey that tea would travel on from China to the markets in Moscow.

Chests of tea would travel on camelback, often taking about year to complete the journey.

The tea is black and comes from Fujian province of China.

The tea has a smoky aroma and flavour, and the leaves are dried in bamboo baskets over pine fires.

As it does have a strong taste you will probably want to drink it with milk (adding just lemon is pointless as the lemon would only get drowned in the tea's natural aroma).

And unless you are a chain cigar-smoking whisky drinker whose tastebuds are neutered by years of abuse you probably won't be able to face it black.

:D

I believe, that Tetley is in fact a step back and the bags are just the wrong shape. I think they make them that way in order to make the packets look bigger for the same weight inside them. They are a bugger to use with the floating method as well as they just keel over all the time when you poor the water over them. The most stable bags for the the floating method are the round ones IMHO

a sudden craving for tea, could be the starting sings of serious problems, ie cancer :o

i was watching the oneshow last month and the doctor was on saying that a craving for hot drinks (eg tea) could be because of 'this' condition (cant rember what it was) but it can lead to cancer. so you should go to the docters and get checked!

on the otherhand,

your a sad old bugger, who has too much time on his hands, and LOVES tea!!! :clapper::laugh:

Yes girl way to go. Either the Yorkshire tea or the Kenya from Tescos. Both have all the plus sides. Nice and strong, come in a round bag with the right number of holes in it and for people like me that drink more then just 5 mugs a day its not to expensive either. Mind you I will keep testing
