What scope ?

I'm looking for a reasonably cheap and cheerful 50 or 56mm objective 30mm scope to go on a .243. Needs to be less than £350 max. Rifle is used for lamping and stalking. What would anyone recommend ? Thanks.

Save a bit more mate and go for quality second hand scope........... the scope is the most important part of any gun and if you can't see the target you ain't gonna hit it

Agreed, although Nikon Monarch or Bushell 4200 are pretty close to that price range, 50 quid or so more.

 

Either would do nicely.

So Good used glass is out there for a good price you just have to track it down.

I agree with Snapshot and Mr L, quality secondhand glass is well worth a look.

Gregor is a sound bloke to deal with and will tell you the truth about what he stocks. I think York Guns deal in second hand optics, as do Sportsman gun centre. Get Gunmart Magazine and check out the small ads.

Don't know where you live but a company called RAKERS near me in sussex (around Petworth) has a lot of good second hand glass in at the moment Swarovski , S&B , Leupold ETC ETC. They have got a website with address and number might be worth a call and a haggle?
