waggadogger 0 Posted June 2, 2009 Report Share Posted June 2, 2009 hey my name is alex and im 15 i have a laby retriever and want to get into rabiting iff u have any tips 4 me then mutch will be apreciated as i am a 1st timer and dont know how it is done because there are a fair bit of wild hairs here and im not sure how to train my dog ro chase them and hunt them little vermins down if u carnt get threw to me then email me on waggadogger@hotmail.com thanks alex Link to post

Simoman 110 Posted June 2, 2009 Report Share Posted June 2, 2009 Waggadogger your lab may catch the odd bunny but not on a regular basis and it wont be fast enough for hares......Go and have some fun with your lab but to catch anything regularly you will need a purpose bred running dog............. I don't know the laws in Australia but I'm guessing they ain't living in a granny state like us so hare coursing will probably be fine. Anyhow, it isn't against the law telling someone how you course a hare as far as I am aware.... bomb making yes but hare coursing, I don't think so. How can you give a guy with a lab advice on how to course hares? you could try telling the young lad that a lab is going to struggle catching hares ..and he may need a lurcher type dog to give them a run for there money.....saying that my bushing terrier caught three winter hares this season....accidenty of course...
