SNAP SHOT 194
the total average velocity is right even though your highest velocity was shot number 1) with 720/ fps and your lowest was 103.2 fps on shot no. 9 So the high and low velocities are wrong but your av velocity is right.....? something is a miss....? the figures quoted are wrong..... for high and low velocities. i'd ask for a retest....... Guest Chip
ibstock gun and tackle im a bit supprised at your story the owner is ok!! my story???????????im not accussing them of anything i genuinley beleived what they told me they seem a good sort very helpfull but i cant explain the s200 or the date at the top and to be honest im no longer arsed. i got the gun back my post started out warning folk to make sure they know what a guns firing at rather than take for granted.... you make your own mind up Quote Link to post
Sterry 0
Surely if you got a deviation like that on shot no.9 you would know somthing is a miss. Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
Is the pellet weight right on the print out, 15. something......? Quote Link to post
maty j 6
You sure those numbers add up?? With a max fps of 804 and a pellet weight of 15.73 I make It 22.5 FPE, Not 14.7 FPE Maths has never been my strong point though.. I'd be concerned about shot number 9 too?? Also If It was a 10 shot string where did he get the 804 fps from Quote Link to post

happylamper 7
sounds to me you've been stripped mate. Quote Link to post
maty j 6
that and the low velocity of 786.5 ...........................? Exactly, I think you've been shafted Chip Quote Link to post
Guest Chip
snap shot and sterry i really couldnt say... that stuffs over my head. i like to think its an honest mistake on the paper work im hoping to use them again like rio fella says they seem a good sort i cant imagine folk would have your pants down for such little money. SNAP SHOT 194
disregarding the errors in both max and min velocity the total velocity still adds up right, and the average velocity is right get me the weight in grains of the pellet used and i'll calculate your ft/lbs from the data provided.... Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
right if you ever need to calculate your foot pounds and you have a chrono here's how it work take your pellet weight example taken from above post... 15.73 grains multiply by av. velocity squared... av. vel. = 648.6 divided by 450240 a constant number never changes..... so 15.73 x 648.6 x 648.6 450240 ...................................... = 14.69 ft/lbs Quote Link to post
chimp 299
did it hurt ? you know ...... when he bent you over the counter and fu##ed you up the arse . your right tho , get a chrony Quote Link to post
Geoff.C 0
well i learnt a lesson today and that is take nothing for granted when it comes to buying used airguns/rifles.i bought an air rifle s410 .22 last week and genuinly feeling it was underpower i took it to a gun shop to have a chrono test. the fella went away came back some 10/15 minutes later to say hes spoken to a fire arms officer and he can not hand me the gun back as its over the limit. he give me two options..apply for a fac to get it back or leave it there pay to have it turned down i opted for the latter. i was pissed off to begin with but it could have been a lot worse i suppose. anyway next air rifle i buy im takeing a chrono with me. heres a print out i cant make sense of it other than 14.7ft-lbs. edited to say i dont know why its saying s200 and that date but when i asked for it to be printed these are the stats to my gun Help! Am I missing something here, I don't like things that don't add up. Adding all the test velocities, I get 5846, so an average of 584.6. The evaluation sheet, shows a max velocity of 804, when the graph clearly shows all shots are 700-ish. To my mind, the evaluation sheet, and the test sheet are from two different tests? Can someone explain please? Quote Link to post
jackinbox99 41
Does sound a bit harsh that he charged you to adjust the guns power. If its a pre-tamper s410 then its litterally 3 minutes work to adjust the power down. But, they are correct in that by law they have to keep the gun, or reduce the power before they give it back to you. Whether or not they would actually speak to a firearms officer seems a bit strange, as surely they already know what they have to do! Quote Link to post
ian88 0
If the gun is a FAC ,even if you lower the power its always classed as a FAC (needs tobe on ticket)so he,s talking out of his arse mate ,by law he should,nt have gave it back unless you have ticket with slot on .this is what i was told by CITY AIR WEAPEONS (birmingham last week).Ask your FAO.
