It's just too flippin' hot for walking the mutts the last few days. Can't go out really early or late on 'cause of the kids, so the dogs have made due with lolling about in the garden.

Got shot of the kids this morning tho (thank Christ half term is over!), so took the dogs for a swim in the Calder after a breif mooch in the feilds

I love my bitch

I love the summer and the drier weather, tis great for taking pics but otherwise .... it's all a bit boring innit?

How's everybody else's dogs coping with the heat? Hope you're being careful about heat stroke etc ;)

Yeah i agree with those sentiments.......too hot in the day to take them far.......my rough coated fella does suffer a bit in the heat........but his coat comes in handy on cold frosty ferreting days. Sooner have it hot rather than wet and cold anyday though. ;)

My hairy black beddy/whippet isn't a fan of the sun, but the little JRT bitch is a bugger to shift out of the sun when she's in a comfy spot. She's broken coated too, but she's a tart for the heat!

I was in Wales visiting family at the weekend, the air con and frequent stops did the trick for the dogs.

Walked the dogs at 6am by 9am it was too hot for them.

How do the sheep manage? lol

The sun doesn't really effect me, but my partner has alot of skin cancer running on her side of the family.

Its a little depressing coming back to flat land

:D

at the risk of sounding like a miserable old woman i hate summer!!

my irish blood goes into shock with the heat! give me wind, rain, sleat and frost anyday!

the only thing i like is the longer hours of daylight wish it could do that without the heat

bring on winter!! with walking in the rain and mud for 4 hours to come home freezin to have some hot steaming stew, one of life simple pleasures lol

not long to go will soon be workin with the foxhounds. ferreting, lamping and having a go at deer stalking

bring it on!!!

all the best lurcher lass x x x

SS, yes it was lovely!

My wifes uncle lives in Penrhyndeudraeth, lovely place.

I had to go on the Ffestiniog railway. Its so amazing at any time of the year.

My wifes uncle work's on the railway, "keeping it alive as they say" and too right!

Nice pics artic!! I'm off to Wales with the kids and dogs in July for a little break, well looking forward to it. Not as posh as that place but it'll do for me

 @ LL .... I like the summer but I don't like super hot. Summers where I grew up where disgustingly hot which totally doesn't suit me, but summers here are ok. Being out with the dogs isn't quite so interesting as it is in winter, but there's a lot less mud on my floors this time of year  I just keep hearing about people's dogs suffering heat stroke, so I only let them have shorter walks which isn't nearly as much fun.

Keano, not really sure what the spot is called, it's on the Calder near Gawthorpe tho. Not a bad spot, but rife with bloody nettles!
