Hi Guys and Girls

 

both of my jills are starting to swell the teats are starting to build and one or two have milk the Vulvas are swolen. how long before the Kits start to arrive? I don't know the exact date because the jils were at a mates house with his ferrets one of which is a hob while I was on my Holls

 

any good answers would be super thanks,

 

the 2 Jils are sisters should i seperate??

They might get on ok with kits in together.It wont be too long now if they have milk keep an eye

By the sound of it you shouldn't have long to wait i'd leave them together

i find a good signal is mine started nesting about a week before shredding paper etc,

an 2 days before didnt venture far at all

 

 

but all the jills that were covered the vulva retracted back to normall around a week after breeding,

an the official time is 52 days + or - a day from breeding,

the vulva on mine returned to normal aswell but now they are swelling up again. is that strange or normal??

 

both are shareing the same nest at the moment just been out to have a look curled up sleeping.

gestation period for a ferret is 42 days mate not 52.

The vulvas shouldnt be swollen if there pregnant or at least not fully swollen , they could be just coming back into season after a phantom pregnancy

thanks for all the answers, they have both come back into season. so we are heading back to the hob to see if he really is shooting blanks LOL

leave them together mate mine are sweet and they are sisters they just take tries an turns looking after the kits
