Guest donh
Ive got a collie/rottwiler cross used for bushing, she is a good hunter, is trainable, has a good nose and loves working in cover. Outside she is fine with people and dogs but if a stranger comes to the house she makes a lot of noise (but does not bite) Please let me know how it turns out as I am concidering covering her with a running dog when she is older. Hope this helps All The Best Donh Edited May 31, 2009 by donh Quote Link to post
ferreter.al 22
i wouldnt of thought that the rotti blood would dialute down enough and the pups will grow up to be too big and hevy to run on anything but thats just my opinion, they could turn out to be belters but im not convinced, are you having one of the pups??,let us know how they turn out,atb Quote Link to post

DRP 3
Obviously not an ideal cross, but it may not be all bad! My Rottie bitch has caught rabbit, squirrel, pigeon and mice. She hunts like a lioness, not taught, just instinct, she hunts my male Dobermann exactly the same, crouching down and waiting for the right moment lol. She has excellent bursts of speed, she can get her elbows over my 6' 3" fence but her shear weight pulls her back down again (luckily), but obviously her stamina isn't great compared to some other breeds out there like the Dobe that will literally run all day!
