Guest Chip Posted May 30, 2009 Report Share Posted May 30, 2009 just wanted to know what your prefered pellet is for vermin,particulaly wood pigeons im using a recently aquired s410 with some domed bulldog pellets(22) that were thrown in. ive been given a cushy number clearing woodys.. ive hit every one ive shot no bother... to cut it short something not right..im not sure whether the guns well under power or its the pellets.. i,ll be having it chrono,d on the monday and was of the mind to get in some aa feild pellets which seem to be the pellet of choice for the s410 from what ive read but theres little mention of them with regards to vermin im not a big shooting man so dont have a go least im asking Quote Link to post

Guest Chip Posted May 30, 2009 Report Share Posted May 30, 2009 I use 14.5 grain .22 Superdomes in my HW100T, they put woodpigeons on there arses for me. thanks lads i didnt want to say on the forum davy but yes im hitting them point blank and there flying off(not all but most) leaving a few chest feathers behind. never been much of a shooting man always had springers in the past for the rabbits but when ever i have had pigeon in the past they stayed down. its boggleing me as to whether i have a grossly underpowered gun or it was the pellet choice. 8shot 191 Posted June 4, 2009 Report Share Posted June 4, 2009 anything up to 30yds use a flat headed pellet which they use for punching paper they have some real stopping power also get your gun on a chronno as alot of guns are coming out of the factorys well under powered 1 last thing... head shot neck shot or top of the wing and they wont go far also when they do fly of look at which tress they fly into ull normally find them stone cold at the bottom 10 mins later good luck Quote Link to post
