what age would you put her on quarry if it was pre ban times? just outa curiosity

She can still be used on rabbits mate under the ban. Problem you have is she'll be getting ready just as the season is coming to an end. Might not be a bad thing though. Rabbits are harder to find in January and the ones you do find, ain't survived due to luck if you know what I mean. But, she'll be 10 months by then and at a good age to get introduced. Bitches generally mature quicker than dogs but if you set your sights for this time, you'll not be far wrong. The guy who sold you the dog is the best one to get advice from mate.

I'm against taking a working dog for a look without getting involved. This is how you for example, break them to sheep etc. Walk them through the fields of sheep, let them have a look, keep doing it till they pay no attention... It's ok taking them out with working dogs and keeping them on the lead if at the end of the night, they get to chase one themselves or you hand pick an easy chase for them but you are far away from that scenario. No, I'd hold fire ma man and remember that song from Take that..... Need a little patience.......... :D

I was assuming you are going to start her on rabbits lol, forgot to ask.

well thought id start her on em, or should i concentrate on one quarry than all? thanks for ya help

You need to dabble with them all to see what she likes or is good at. It's a living thing, cos you have it in your head you want her to do one thing, she might like to do another. They are like us, all different. I know as a rule most crosses are breed for a certain job and if they don't make the grade they are sold on as failures but one mans muck is another mans brass. Just remember, you are limited to things you can use her for under the law.
