Recent thread said the authorities are no longer going to pursue hunts ...seems like the huntsmen have their house in order for them to be left alone..Trouble with terrier men is that you are tarred with 2 brushes ...one is what you do legally which is galling in a lot of people eyes and 2 is the suspicion that you are doing illegal stuff with your terriers namely badgers ..why is that well i've been told from a very good source badger crime is on the increase the number of setts being disturbed is through the roof. This affects lurchermen too because of the large bull crosses still used on fox/deer and badger. The answer is to get our houses in order but at the end of the day can you see this .....No ..why ? because of the unruly element who just keep doing what they're doing regardless damaging the image of hunters further and further. We're in the sh1t up to our necks and every dodgy post put up here i believe is another step on our heads to our drowning completely

If the ban is not repealed then it will be our own fault.

There is a difference between doing somthing responsably in private, and keeping it private.

Or doing something then posting it on here for the whole world to see. Then wondering where the antis or the government get the information that people are breaking the law, and then complain if the law is tightend up even further to stop this happening. So please if you ignore the stupid ban keep quiet about it and dont give the b*****ds any more ammunition.

Do i own and work a dog ...yes i own a lurcher ..and if you mean do i work it purposely as in lamping or ferreting then the answer is no ..why because due to previous ill health i cannot do a nights lamping or a days ferreting like i used to ...do i mooch around with my dog yes ..does she catch.. yes on my old hunting grounds ..

I worked dogs on and off for around 30-35 years and seen plenty of good and bad. I think you read too much into the hunting ban being repealed they talk of huntsmen being allowed to hunt again ..no talk of lurchers or terriers.

Also when they say they are going to leave the hunt packs alone there is no say where the resources used to monitor hunts will be redirected if they get redirected into another area at all. If they are going to use the money saved on this into knife crime then it would be publicly stated with a wwhole lot of razzamatazz. If the resources are kept in the same area then who is going to be targeted more .....hopefully not lurcher/terrier folk.

I have just read 3 pages of this shit, what a bunch of misinformed pricks, terrier work isnt illegal, why would they make it illegal if they repealed the ban ??? as for the rest of the 'them and us' comments,,, go fck yourselves, I hunt, have done for 25 years, both with red coats and shooting packs and I do terrier work, and I've had ferrets, lurchers, fishing rods and whatever else.. ignorant thick twats that can't string a sentence together brought us down, and attitudes like that will divide us.... so keep digging your holes that you're already in, and when you start thinking along the postive lines, stop digging or it will be to late... :blink:

I think you read to much into stuff my friend,the last time you slipped a dog it coarsed a sheep and you got rid.....to rehome another rescue dog that you say slip on rabbits,them leeeshes only extend 5 meters dog must be fast.

Nothing positive yet, surely there must be someone on here more in the know.

Hunting people are mostly twats on horseback who think little of terriers and lurchers.They only look to people like us when they are in the shit otherwise do you think they would organise a march to save lurcher and terrier work? We all need to let the C/A know that we will only accept all or nothing.Remember it was the BASC who saved terrier work last time not the C/A .A well known sausage dog breeder when he was a huntsman called terriers a neccesary evil,and thats how most of them think so beware.

most the hunting people i know would back terrier lads all the way.we are all in the same boat.terrier work is still legal.the hunts will help us keep it that way.people listen to them ,more than us.
