RaiderBoy 19
well today has been non stop bad luck, ive fallen twice on a wet floor , spent half an hour zeroing my scopes just for my gun to be knocked over by my dog and just before i went out thick fog appeared cutting visability right down but it all came good when i got to the local woods the fog dissapeared and there was rabbits everywere but unfortunally to small to shoot. After a while i came to a clearing that is usually covered in rabbits, But this time just one that was standing up about 40 yards away facing away from me from me my scopes were zeroed at about 30 yards so i aimed about half way up his eares and CRACK down he went and he dident even kick I found him right were he dropped .22 air arms field diablo right to the back of the head . i carried on walking but dident see any rabbits bigger than this one so no more shots were taken. one thing that freaked me out was quiet sqeaking all the time rather like a fox call but quieter and longer any ideas to what this is ? jackinbox99 41
Sure it wasnt this rabbit squeeling before it died? They can make some really strange noises sometimes after being hit. Failing that, its probably some sort of bird. Ive spent hours in the fields and some noises can really sh!t you up sometimes. Ive not heard young rabbits calling their mums before, so i bet its some kind of bird or something? Excellent first rabbit tho!!! well done!!!! Edited May 28, 2009 by jackinbox99 Quote Link to post

Raiderboy. Those little bunnies are the best eaters and remember they are vermin, in fact at this time id rather shoot young rabbits as then you know you arent leaving kit with no mum. Anyway, nice shot, always good when you pull off a shot like that. Quote Link to post

Sterry 0
Rabbits do breed like rabbits. I dont think shooting a few young rabbits for sport wont have any affect on the numbers later on in the year, in fact, i would imagine shootin one young rabbit would leave more rabbits, than shooting one rabbit that either pregnant or suckling.
