diggerman 0
I have one pisses in his bedding every day no matter how long he's been out for a walk, just the way he is, same as if another dog so much as barks at him, thats it everytime he see's that dog or goes past where the dog lives he wants to kill it, he's the smallest of my patts, but he rules this yard. littlefish 586
I guess dogs just don't find the smell of urine or dung as offensive as humans do - has anyone a dog who loves to roll in shoite of all varieties when out? My bitch used to piss on her blanket every day - i gave up and threw it in the bin and left her a plastic bed to lie in. She grew out of the habit after a while and is very clean now. Hi mate, put the soiled bedding in the run, and make the sleeping quarter just big enough for your dog to sleep, (no bedding just on a ply board base) your dog will soon learn not to mess in its own bed, clean its sleeping quarter out,(with jeys or disinfectant) but not the run, for a few days, "this is tried and tested and work's"!!! let me no how you get on. good luck

Guest donh
I had a bitch doing this when she was bedded on straw, I removed the bedding altogether, disinfected the bedding area, Bought a large plastic dog bed, made the bedding area smaller (just large enough for the bed to fit in) did not put any bedding material in the bed (not even a blanket) This stopped the problem imidiately and I have not had a problem since. Hope this helps All The Best Donh
gnipper 6,504
I'm sure i've heard somewhere before about lowering the height of the bed so the dog can't stand up fully for a while, that way that can't piss etc. My old bosses labrador would shit in his bed every day and had all his life for about 10 years and it was as though he aimed for them when it came to lying down, at least he was yellow and you knew where not to stroke
gnasher16 30,217
Well what a turn up for the books.......i am 99 % sure we have sussed out the problem with this dog.......i stuck with the plan of leaving her shits down for a few days but this didnt prove anything either way....but i did have a brainwave of rigging up an old security camera i had laying about and recording her over a 48 hour period.......i know its a little bit extreme but this problem had really started to get to me ! Anyway.....i am now sure that the problem is actually this.................she is scared of the dark !!!! During the day there is no problem, however after dark it appears as though she will not come out of her kennel whatsoever,at one stage i even saw clear as anything poke her head out, come back in and take a crap...........well this is a new one on me and how you get a dog out of it i dont know.....but at least im sure we,ve identified the problem..... Somewhat embarassing to have to admit it but this superbly bred bitch,a fantastic athlete and great prospect.........is scared of the dark Anyone else who has experienced similar id sure be glad to hear how you got around it. Malt 379
Do you think she's been bollocked for coming out of the bed area at night? Might explain why she's reluctant to come out after dark. Or maybe she'd been kept in an area that was constantly lit 24 hours a day as a young pup. Feck knows, all dogs baffle us from time to time. They do things that leave us humans scratching our heads, but to them there's probably a reason why they do what they do!

This pups been treated like a rolls royce from day 1 its certainly nothing to do with any kind of mistreatment....many times she has been walked at night or at least been out in one way or another after dark......it seems this fear is only when kennelled and alone.......its got me mystified....but cheers for your thoughts
