ulverston moocher 60
Loads of handaling mate and good diet if your planning on using a dog with your ferrets get them socialised early on and try to find a good book on ferrets. I like d,b plummers book modern ferreting and ian c rickards, ferrets and ferreting there both a good read. Quote Link to post

dj.chapman 0
top piece of advice i thought should be mentioned. get a ferret finder and learn how to make your own nets. i started making mine this year and there is nothing like it, next best thing to being out in the field. also think about getting a longnet, speak to molecatcher on here about that, he also has a great book called "longnetting from peg to peg. you could also try watching some clips on youtube Quote Link to post

ferret1 6
Handle them as much as you can, if you getting kits you will get nipped but dont let that put you off. A good quality diet and varied too. I have kept ferrets for 20 years and have had many hours of fun with them all year not just during the ferreting season. Deffinately get a ferret finder and practice useing it so you are comfortable useing when you are out in the field. Ive heard many people say I`m not going to bother with a locator because ferrets are cheap to replace but you owe the ferret to look after it a you would working dog or BOP. Good luck with them mate and enjoy working them. Quote Link to post
