Sharpley Springs is a good place for fly fishing, i have'nt actually fished it myself but my mate goes regurly. It's up the back roads between seaham and houghton near warden law karting circuit. Some good fish in there and they have tagged fish that if you catch them you can win prizes (dont know if this is special occations or all the time). ATB, Liam..

higham lakes in ponteland, you have 3 lakes to choose from 1 containing speciem fish up to 20lb. all lakes contain browns blues rainbows and a few gold. also has the biggest brown trout around, boris the brown last time he was caught he was 23lb

sharpley springs (seaham) very good theres about five or more lakes to choose from including a beginners lake. the top and bottom lakes have tagged fish in worth £500 a full day with four fish limit and tag fish tickeyt is £19 i think or chatton in wooler also very good two lakes with lots of fish and very helpful and friendly staff. five fish ticket all day is £26 the lodge sell hot food and drinks and offer a loyalty card where aftr five visits you get one free. both fisheries well worth a visit imo

yeah all ones been mentioned worth a try still not sure about chatton tho we fished it april time the day of the troutmasters day ,we fished the top lake fish were of average size ,very open and coffee coloured water may settle as the lakes mature, they are quite deep too .more worth a try are sweethope loughs ,langley dam near hexham ,witton castle, bigger waters the derwent resevoir getting better year by year on catch returns , all the best rob
