White pike

Hi all ,just thought i'd share this with you ,while waiting for the weigh in at a local match in westmids we saw a white pike striking at rudd or roach ,having never seen a white one ive made it my mission to catch it and photo it properly.

only picture i got is on a phone so sorry for the bad quality.

he would be about 4/5 lbs only a jack.................................atb steve

it looks more like a big ghost carp more than a pike but if you do manage to catch it put some pictures up

No ghost carp ,ive been fishing 30 odd years and thats a real white pike ,40 match men witnessed it and all couldnt believe it.it was in full feeding mode giving the roach some stick in the weeds.

im going to try my hardest to get this fish on the bank for a good photo............steve

I saw one 15 years ago in the River Aire. Would like to get one on the bank. A good find mate.

One thing baffles me is why wasnt it snapped up by a big perch or pike when it was smaller or a heron even,

unless it has changed colour over time,i'm going to put some time into this fish and fingers crossed il post the picture .

Update on pike,

 

sorry to say iv'e put a lot of time into this fish only to findout that its been foulhooked and eaten ,the local polish and other minorities have been taking tench and carp for the table out of this stretch of canal.

was told by match men yesterday they caught a glimps ov it in the weed and foulhooked him [what a f*****g shame].

after a few choice words as to why they didn't stop them taking it ,my challenge was over.

if only id been there at the time i would have punched lumps of the scavenging twats.

i only hope they catch something of the fish they are illigally taking out the canal............

fish of a life time gone............................................

sorry to say iv'e put a lot of time into this fish only to findout that its been foulhooked and eaten ,the local polish and other minorities have been taking tench and carp for the table out of this stretch of canal.

was told by match men yesterday they caught a glimps ov it in the weed and foulhooked him [what a f*****g shame].

after a few choice words as to why they didn't stop them taking it ,my challenge was over.

if only id been there at the time i would have punched lumps of the scavenging twats.

Thats a rare sight indeed, i have never seen a white Pike in 30 odd years on the water.
