Just to add my bit. Surely personel preference is irelavant with such a matter, the decision should be based on does the dog need a docked tail for the work its intended for in your experience (but of course the decision is often made for you by the breeder). I understand on a behavioural (sp) basis the tail is used by dogs to communicate as part of the overall body language and having a docked tail is beleived to sometimes cause 'trouble' as the body language is miss read by other dogs.

 

Me, personally i would have it docked just to be on the safe side as ive seen plenty of split open tails, but i wouldn't mind an undocked, just risk damage.
