id pay £50 to catch a cod like that any day. too many skippers now days take your money and dont bother trying to find you the best fish. i wonder how some of these amature skippers manage to keep there bookings coming in.

think i'll get my name down for that boat in a few weeks.

ATB REDEYE.

I think most of the skipprs try for the fish mate ,its just the fish just aint there anymore. They want you to catch the fish for there own sake!!

ive been on too many boats with skippers that lose interest as soon as the boat is slipped from the harbour. but ive also been on boats where the skipper works his arse off and you can see the look of dissapointment in his eyes if your not catching. i now only go out with skippers that i know or get recommended buy friends. and yes i agree mate the fish are getting so hard to come buy in our waters. i know of a skipper that leaves whitby starting in september thatgoes over to scandanavia for 5 days cod fishing its absolutely awsome. £400 for 5 days and the cod are monsters.

Sounds crackin mate, how long do you spend steaming? Id be right up for that..

you steam for a fair time untill you reach the fishing grounds, but this is the time to get some sleep cause when your there its none stop, and i do mean none stop fishing average size cod are 15-20lb, you can expect 150-200 stone of fish in the 4 days. the fish is gutted, cleaned and boxed in ice and even filletted for you if you wish.

Nice mate, when you say get your head down is it everyone bundles in the wheel house and tries to sleep or can you lie down. I do the Aldernay trip every year and on the way over everyone tries to sleep, last year i was curled up on the live eel tank, nightmare!! What size boat is it?

wasnt there a feature done about this boat in Sea Angler a few years ago?

It sounds great but ill have to settle for wreck fishing trips for now.I should be getting out in the next week or two from Hartlepool. This year ill be making sure i have enough bait as twice last year the mackeral werent around and bait got scarce,i ended up having to use the whiting and pouting that were being caught. It was frustrating watching lads who had brought enough mackeral with them hauling out good sized ling on baited pirks.
