right chaps this topic wasn't started for a slagging match,it was an honest question, the amount that are shot with rifles you boys win hands down there's no doubt about that, the question asked was how do we approach this matter in explaining, once a place is shot out there's nothing there for either of us,don't know about you boys but when i have a lambing call out, hounds are taken to the field where its happening, they take a line to where he is hiding he's then flushed to awaiting guns, happy days one happy farmer, but i was in conversation with a guy that also had a call out with his rifle"not too the same farmer before anybody puts his two pennith in"and he told me he baited the field first and over a period of a week he shot 17 fox's,i know that 17 foxes wasn't at fault there, only one fox,but why take the rest out when that's all they were doing was going for his bait that he left out. This chap could'nt see the damage he was causing to that area, his only answer was he'd find another place to shoot after this place, there's got to be a happy medium somewhere between us all, without bickering,550 yards shot, thats one hell of a good shot mate, but you can't tell me thats safe, what would you shot a season compairing too what your dogs catch, all the best old dog

your man with the rifle is a pillock to be frank...i guess the image rifle men put accross is kill everything that is in range.............i leave a percentage of rabbits i have killed on the ground..my thoughts behind this is that if a fox or buzzard has easy food thney aint going to worry pheasents or lambs (we dont have much sheep ground by me though) for the last few years this seems to have worked well.......i personally dont have a dog that will take fox (pre ban of coarse) my dogs are rabbitters and i wouldnt pretend any different......when out shooting i generally use a 17 hmr (rabbit gun)with my centre fire drop loaded in case of a long shot if we have been asked to sort a fox we will shoot it but if there isnt a problem i leave them alone............the long shot i took was safe as i was shooting down into a valley with a good back stop and the fox was identified before the shot was taken......the range was pinged with a range finder the next morning.......what you need to understand is if you the shooter makes a mistake and shoot someone you have taken a human life and going to prison no question's..this always plays a massive part on when and were i take a shot....

There are arseholes with guns and there are more than enough arseholes with dogs.

In fact I would say the dog game has many more dicks than the gun owning section of hunters.

Any prick can own a dog and you dont need a license, and they do own dogs, lots of them!

No I dont own a rifle and yes I do own dogs.

Any fecking chav scumbag can go out and buy himself a bullcross or saluki or whatever and go off killing all sorts of stuff and much of it left laying in the fields because the pricks have no idea how to dress game out nor do they want to.

Just want to kill stuff untill they get into the next thing.

This thread is rediculous and only shows how narrow minded lots of people are.

and this is why the antis will live to see ALL our sports banned. we behave like a gang of syphalitic whores arguing over whos curb it is to be standing on. Or whos right and whos wrong or whos got the bigger harder more powerfull whatever. Jesus it makes me sick.

Why will the antis win? because they dont argue umoungst themselves, THEY HATE US ALL, NO MATTER HOW WE KILL THE BLOODY FOX. And while were arguing over who has the moral right to kill the fox why dont we all start shouting at the many members on here who snare hundreds a year, f**k it im sure they kill far more than many of the shooting and dogging boys put together. And please make me public enemy no1 as last week i killed one with 1tonne of scenic doing 60mph.

this in house bickering is both tiresome, pointless and f*****g harmfull to the sports as a whole. now ive had my rant where did i put my .243 toting bullxgrey as i now must go check some fox wires i put out 3days ago ;)
