mick2444 0
hi,just bought a cz lux 22lr, put 200 ely subs through it and was getting 1 inch groups at 40 yards . feeling really pleased with myself then i decided to try a tip i had read about cleaning barrel, strimmer line with knot in the end with cleaning patch, i cut a patch in half threaded the line through the barrel from the breech, 2 -3 inchs in the knot pulled through the patch now the patch is in is there, any way to get it out without taking to gun smith?thanks. Mr_Logic 5
Get a .22 cleaning rod, that's what you should really use anyway. Then take the .22 rod and put through with no attachment, the remnants will come out just fine. Quote Link to post

Mr_Logic 5
Don't need to clean them all the time for sure, but every now and then for the bore helps. Since i shoot a semi auto, action must be kept spotless. Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
Everyone has their own view but I don't hold with.... "Don't clean the .22LR!! If you use it exclusively for subs then the likelyhood is the ammo is lead, so pretty soft and easy to clean but the powder is still filthy and lumpy. If you use it with high velocity you may well have a copper jacket and like it or not you will leave copper traces along the bore. .22lr needs cleanig to keep it sweet in my view but no need to be quite as paranoid as with the centrefires (or HMR, WMR) Quote Link to post
