Wouldn't have said they make the best of guards mate.

Horses for courses, but if it was a guard that looked the part and made plenty of noise I'd be looking at one of the German breeds, Alastian etc, there must be proper working bred ones around.

Not sure if they'd be any use when out digging though?

My Stafford, and I'd like to think I've got a reasonably good one, would show you where the keys where if you broke in here!

i would agree with what has been said but i would add this i recently got a bitch that has been outside all her life and she guards well and lets me know if any one is about but is not barky(if you know what i mean)my house dogs will also guard but tend to guard me my family rather the places

as for working it with your lurchers you only have one point to be very weary off they work toghter otherwise you will end up with a damaged lurcher hope this helps :victory:

I have a staffy but same as above on the guarding, He'd lick a burguar to death lol unless of course they had a dog with them then it may be a different story but i don't think many burglars take their dogs with um lol

no good for guarding unless they grown up in a pack.

my apbt is a good guard dog but she was raised with 2 female Serra da Estrela Cattle dog and they are bred for that purpose.

today, she is the only guard dog in the yard but a patt pup that i have is better alarm than her.

she protects him from anyone!!

best regards
