Guest vin Posted May 21, 2009 Report Share Posted May 21, 2009 hello all. ive been at this one a while..The barrel is a work of art..but ive had a few problems with the leather having a bit too much give in it..so im gonna strip it and use something other than leather..something that does not stretch... im trying out a bit of car seat belt next i think. my next door neighbour is a dab hand with the old wood lathe and leatherwork.. have a look before it gets stripped down again.. remind anyone of the old style slips we used to have ? all good fun. vin Quote Link to post

poacher3161 1,766 Posted May 22, 2009 Report Share Posted May 22, 2009 I bought one like it 30 odd year ago i think they called it the altcar slip lead main problem the leather used to stretch [bANNED TEXT] the dog was pulling drawing the pin out of the barrel .seen a lot of loose dogs because of them at the old carlton towers coursing meets.atvb Quote Link to post
