I watched it and was rather disturbed that such young people were allowed to own powerful dogs like that.

Those two 16 yeard old girls had not an ounce of a brain cell between them and looked like a right pair of twats. A recipe for disaster.

I really liked King and his rottie. That dog didn't obey out of fear and was clearly well cared for. In fact I think that lad might have a career ahead of him if he stays out of trouble and keeps his eye on the prize. His mates were proper wankers tho. All of them being walked down the pavement by their own dogs, not having a clue about how to train dogs properly.

As for the young girl who was attacked and nearly killed: why shouldn't she be on there telling her story? If it stops just one chav from having a dog they can't control then it's worth it. What happened to that girl was horrific and down to the person responsible for the dog. If folks would just stop and think about what they were doing, that girl might not have been ripped to shreds. It's important for people to understand the mindset behind these 'chavs' and their desires for four legged tools ... so that we can maybe someday prevent it. Nothing wrong with a program like that at all. I didn't come away feeling it was anti bull breed, I felt more like it drew attention to the lives of these kids, and the fact that the dogs behaviour was down to training or lack thereof. You can all rant as much as you like that pits were banned because of idiots but that's the point of the ban!! If you can't stop the idiots you've got to try to take away the means with which they are causing damage. And cause damage they definately do: to their own dogs, the dogs of others, and to other people. I am a fan of bull breeds but I don't own one because I know I'm not equipped to properly train one, simple.

It boggles the mind it really does. But ... what's the solution to all these young people owning strong powerful dogs they are not equipped to train and handle?

I just watched this on the iplayer ...i'm disgusted but also disturbed that some of these people feel the need to have a dog for a bodyguard..As for the muppets who want a status symbol well they should go to the doctors and ask them to remove the dick off their foreheads. Summers coming hot sweaty stressed dogs anyone see dog attacks on the increase after watching this ...i think i can.

Dunno, :hmm: maybe a mass cull, then mass sterilization of the cretins that gave birth to them?

I would like to add that I am not in favour of the DDA and happen to think it's a load of tosh - but I can see the flip side to the hysteria that brought it about and kind of understand what they were trying to do. It's failed miserably, and the dogs are paying the price for the human idiots.

If you've not lived in places like those shown in London you can't understand what it's like, not even a bit. I grew up in a really rough place. I carried a knife and knuckle dusters, both of which I knew how to use. You don't walk with your head down, but you don't make eye contact. Know how to pick your friends but more importantly how to pick your enemies. Brace yourself whenever you leave the house, you could end up robbed/beaten etc by the time you get up to the shop. Day to day, minute by minute, your life is perforated by intimidation and the need to be seen as too tough to be messed with. I can see why this trend with dogs has come about - tis a very sad thing indeed as these are living creatures that can be very dangerous. But I understand the mentality, much as I disagree with it.

I watched the show last night on iPlayer.

Really shocking stuf.

Every documentary on TV has a motive usually controlled by the Director and finished off in the editing suite.

Yeah this is a bad show for genuine dog keepers, people who respect their breeds, control their dogs and realise they are something to be trained and nutured, not used as a tool for respect on the streets.

It doesnt happen often but it made me shed a tear watching those dogs in the vets, truley disgusting what so called humans can put an animal through.

The DDA has many flaws, no doubt, and it still stinks of the usual acts introduced to solve a problem, the problem gets pushed underground and actually makes the breed have a special attraction.

I really hope that dog fighting is a relativley small problem as well, a horrific act carried out by the lowest of the low in order to line their pockets and massage their stinking ego's.

Its gets to a stage when you give up on a certain percentage of the population, these people cannot be educated, they cannot understand the implications of their actions, end of story.

Thankfully i live in the countryside and thus dont have aggression show in the streets 24/7, but if i was i would sooner go to the gym, learn some decent MMA techniques and hope for the best, rather than follow that sad trend of knowing sod all about dogs and then buying one based on its muscle/agression.

Rant over folks.

I watched this programme last night after reading this thread, what a pile of pure s#ite, the presenter was a complete tw@t, who went out looking for the dregs of humanity who own dogs, none of which appeared that dangerous, the presenter completely failed to unearth anything new to the majority of us. Complete waste of licenec payers money IMHO.

The thing that really saddened me is after failing to get one of his 'bro's' to admit training a dog to attack people, he managed to dredge up what can only be described as a 'wigga' or ' a poor mans ali g' and he was the only tw@t stupid enough to admit to it on camera. I seriously doubt that any of them have trained their dogs to any degree at all, FFS they could not even get them walking on leads properly. Some status symbol an out of control dog that is more likely to bite the owner or a member of his 'crew' :showoff:

The funniest bit was watching the RSPCA bloke trying to sort the lot of them out, not so easy as sneaking over some fellas back gate, with the cops in tow to remove someones pride and joy terriers or lurchers, they made a complete muppet of him and his organisation, He really told them like! did he not :D.

The reference to dog fighting was lost on me as well, as none of the knobheads they spoke to appeared to have any intention of fighting their dogs at all, probaly put in there to scare the general public a bit more, all in all a really poor quality bit of viewing with its only intention being scaring the s#ite out of the middle and upper classes.
