Tis TM 8
The last time I saw a proper flock of starlings here (Mid Cornwall) was on the front of a maize clamp (Cow feed for those of you who dont know farming talk) and that was around 10 years ago. I only ever see the odd one now, but I'll keep my eye's open... they aren't usually a bird I would take too much notice of to be honest.
The one 8,479
Seems to be a fair few here as well
Guest MickyB
Ok ive been seeing increasing numbers of fledglings about the fields, and been keeping a count on brood sizes..... not easy when they are sat in hedges but when in the open a bit easier.... however im of the opinion that at first, the brood may be rather dispersed about the area, making accurate counting impossible... Anyway ive seen eight broods of 2, seven broods of 3, and im sure 2 broods of 4..... also seen many single chick being fed, but ike I said, there could easy be more of the same brood sat in a nearby hedge etc... so ive not been counting singles.
