Panna 68
You ever watched the dog whisperer he seems to pin them both buy their necks close to each other until they carm down (you need help ) iv tried it a few times with mixed results as highly bred digging dogs can be c**ts even dog v bitches , I would still never kennel them together alone but you normally only lose terriers IE dead if one is much bigger or their is more than to terriers in the kennel , Does the dog whisperer do it with terriers? I've also heared that it helps separating fighting dogs when you splash water on them. It may help - but not with terriers. I would seriously think if to keep both dogs in that case. lancer 13
Thats the worst possible advice you could give. One day you'll end up with a dead dog. They need to be kept separate, cos if they hate each other its never going to change, and leaving them to sort it out themselves will only make things worse and won't have a happy ending Thats your opinion but your a show pony, £350 a pup, plummer keeper. So we will just ignore you. any need for that, everyones entitled to an oppinion Quote Link to post

Attack Fell Terrier 864
IMO if they can't be trusted and you can't control them, then get rid of one of them. Especially if one is biting you. Quote Link to post

Simoman 110
You will probably find they are perfectly ok when out in the field , but the troubles start when around the home... Yep, I have had this in the past, during hunting/exercise the dogs are fine but when they are confined in the house/garden (their territory) then the trouble starts. I'm afraid leaving them to decide whos boss will end in tears the majority of the time, speaking from experience seperation is the only option............... Quote Link to post
Guest busterdog
OK lets just say that you are in hunt service and you've got digging coming out of you're ears. Now you can't do a full seasons work both stopping days and hunting days with one or two dogs, so lets say you have got at least ten terriers, now lets say that half of those dogs/bitches have grudges against each other and god knows you aren't going to give your much needed dogs away and its not practical to replace with someone else's shit, so what do you do then smart arse! I have kept terriers for twenty five years and as i have said i do not condone dog fighting, its not big and its not clever, but sometimes you have got to give them chance to sort these things out for them selfs. IT WILL ONLY END IN TEARS IF YOU ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO LEAVE THEM FIGHTING ON THERE OWN AND NOT SUPERVISED. Quote Link to post
heshimus 1
hello, sorry mate but aren´t you the alfa of the pack?? it' not for you to sort it out? show them whats the hierarchy, and them you must mantain. they are fighting because they are competing for the higher "job" in the pack. you don´t need to beaten up, only if starts you end it with a firm "NO" and a little shake grabbing their neck. if they are good give them a reward. They are not figthing dogs!!! reward the good behaviour and deny them any privilege if bad behaviour is around. i had apbts and you can believe that bitchs are worse than males. my little bitch raised all my dogs but when they are the same size she wants to kill them! in the first years i had no patience and beat the crap out of the bitch, the next thing was let me see where it goes. death in the yard! not a god way. now, she is better and accepts almost every dog in the house except bigger than she. not easy or perfect but much better. someone was talking about dog whisperer? you must digg up more about that guy. i don't know if she is better but your Jan Ferrell is very good and started earlier than he. surelly she is more experienced than he in the british breeds. best regards, Quote Link to post
spindolero 1,111
Decent working terriers are bred for staying power, agression and no quit. No amount of tecniques will overcome decades of breeding. Whatever you do, it'll always be there, under the surface. Quote Link to post
