what would you say is the best allround rifle for different task throughout the U.K

what would you say the best rifle is for;

 

Pest control?

Rabbits?

Foxes?

Deer?

Targets?

 

just a little curious to what the different caliber can actualy do =]

well i use a shotti on crow/pigeon and my 22rimi on rats when i can and on rabbits and a 243 for fox/deer doe's me and a nice powerd air rifle 177 for awkward pigeon / rat jobs and dispatching cage trapt foxes .

has to be a .243 surely. you can shoot every shootable species with a .243 in England legally and its incredibly versatile

.22 rimfire for rabbits

 

.22/250 for foxes

 

.303 for deer

 

12 guage for pigeon

 

 

Mind you, the .22/250 and the .303 weren't my choice - they were gifted to me by my shooting buddy

i have seen a .222 do the buisness on foxes quite regular and the .22 is just a machine in its own rights
