deepthroat 0
What would be the best .22 pellet for fac rifle producing 19ftlb? Quote Link to post
DoaS 0
I'm new to this forum, but not new to shooting, and I have to ask this - why go for a FAC rated air rifle ???? They cost a load more than a .22 rimfire rifle, they need the same level of security etc as a normal section 1 firearm, and they lack the range of a .22 rimfire. the ammunition for .22 rimfire is still relatively cheap compared to the larger calibres, you can get subsonic hollowpoint ammunition for .22 rimfire which is lethal to rabbits, pigeons etc, and with subsonic ammo and a silencer on the rifle they are every quiet.. The ONLY thing I wouldn't do with a .22 rimi that you could do with an airgun is shoot up into a tree with no safe backstop - but with a FAC rated airgun should you be doing that anyway???? Good point, but it can depend on the land you shoot on. One of my shoots is a large wood, about 400 yards long and 100 ish wide. It's bounded by public foot paths. I tried to have it oked for rimmys and was knocked back. Tried again for FAC airguns and it passed ok. Cheers. Edited May 22, 2009 by andyfr1968 Quote Link to post
Burnbank 0
Fair comment I had a Theoben classic 22ft/1b.It did the job but was noisier and pushed a lot less lead.A word of warning though mine exploaded. To explain i was crossing a fence one night with the barrel broken and accidentally touched the trigger. The barrel snapped shut bending like a bannana and unbelievably the stock blew apart. Contacted Theoben and explained that i had accidentally pulled the trigger when the barrel was open and before i could say anything else the woman on the other end of the phone says your barrel will be bent and your stock will have blown apart then? Needless to say claimed on insurance and purchased a rimfire. I think unless you are an air rifle enthusiast i would save yourself a heap of bother and buy a rimfire. Quote Link to post

slips 114
What would be the best .22 pellet for fac rifle producing 19ftlb? airarms 5.52 or feild target throphys bisely pellets are shit ex magums Quote Link to post
vwt4 0
I had a .22 rapid mark 2 which I had at 38ft/lb and it loved bisley magnums and barracuda match, don't understand why you would have an FAC on your ticket then only have it at 19ft/lb why don't you ramp it up a bit. The only thing that shocked and surprised me was when wanted to get rid of it, I thought I could get it de regulated and use it as a normal air gun, how wrong was I , once you have an FAC airgun its always an FAC and even though with the Theoben you can get a new valve kit you cant de reg it hence I lost a fortune as second hand FAC arn't worth as much as a standard gun of the same make and model. I had mine for shooting doves in large barns where you couldn't with the rim fire. Quote Link to post
