patdahat 41
To make a long story short was out with the lamp tonight and interrupted Mr. fox(now dead) having a feed in a pheasants nest,i managed to get the 2 remaining egg's home with me as fast as i could. I have a breeding pair of fan tail pigeons that laid 2 days ago so i put the eggs under her. At the moment everything is looking good, she is quiet content on them. Question is when/if they hatch will the pigeon rare the chicks as her own or will i have to get a lamp to put them under??? This is something that i never taught i would be doing but them pheasants deserve one hell of a go so any advice is greatly appreciated pat. Quote Link to post

Unless they are kept in an enclosed space until the need for heat has gone it will be difficult. Pheasant chicks wander( try to commit suicide !) while squabs sit tight. Quote Link to post
