All the wasps are up for it saying "cmon then you f**cker" You know the types, they are pointing at thier arses and saying "f**k you" Yea its not so bad... Make sure you take some photos or better still pop a youtube video up of your first nest Be carefull of these feckers Edited May 21, 2009 by John Keswick Quote Link to post

Matt 160
Another tip is to buy a decent bee suit. I use a full Sherrif suit, which is far superior to the cheapie jacket and veil types sold by most suppliers. You can suddenly start reacting to stings at any time, I did about three years ago, and I've been doing the little stripey buggers for 20+ years. The Sherrif suit is cool, the hood folds away so you don't have to take it on and off, and best of all, it offers the best protection. Quote Link to post

Chuck that rubbish from Killgerm in the bin and invest in a decent all in one sherrif suit. It'll last you a lifetime and you can actually work in them. They are the ones that the pro beekeepers use. Give Barrettine a ring and speak to Ellen - mention my name, and they will know you are genuine. Barrettine don't publish their prices online, and only deal with pro pesters, unlike some of the other suppliers. Quote Link to post
trapperman 474
the extendable lance is only £37.07 thats bloody good value i thought, i think i will get this and 1 or 2 standard extensions as matt and ratsnatcher suggested. i do like getting new kit i`m like a kid at christmas. but i still want to know will the buggers go up my trouser legs or do they aim for the head i dont want to get stung on me wedding tackle Quote Link to post
John Keswick 119
Dont trust em as far as you can throw em! I havent had one go up my trouser leg yet, but i did have a sneaky barstuard get under the beekeeper suit and zapped me, by feck it was hot too My own fault, the christmas pud hadnt worn off by June and the elasticated waist band was just too darn much of it, so i cut the bloody stuff off and paid the price Make sure your suit is done up tight round your waist. Personaly early on in the season i dont bother to wear a suit, well unless they look particularly menacing. But in confined spaces, shed/lofts etc or anywhere where you dont have an emergency escape route, wear the suit, wear the suit I would love to see you do your first nest, the nerves alone would be entertaining enough "Lamb to the slaughter" rings a bell Quote Link to post

John Keswick 119
Indeed bring em on I just done my first nest of the season, only a small one, slightly larger than a cricket ball. I took the camcorder along in the hopes to video it, but in my exitement i forgot to push record but i did get a really nice view of them through the view finder, trust me However I managed to get a close up video of a queen hornet earlier, right menacing thing. I will pop a youtube video up a bit later Quote Link to post
