A terrier should stay until dug to end of and if some of you think not then as i have always said the terrier is fxxxed. Very low standards i think im just glad some of the local lads only breed true working dogs and give them to local lads and not in it for the cash Quote Link to post

blackpack 70 Posted May 20, 2009 Report Share Posted May 20, 2009 lancer i lost 2 terriers to ground in the last 5 yrs because were we live is a mixture of rabbit burrows which hold fox and rocky hills were you cant dig. I cant and dont put terriers in certain earths now because of these earths because the terriers i had wont leave a earth. Quote Link to post

darcysgimp 0 Posted May 20, 2009 Report Share Posted May 20, 2009 (edited) been sat keeping quiet but now feel i must state my views. ive done a lot of earth work and been honest ive seen it all.ive seen hard proven dog that kill foxes for fun come out the owner having said its killed to ground to see ten mins later a very wobbly fox emerge from a entrance and make his escape.ive seen a proper loopy lou russel dog that ive witnessed myself many times and even made me wince when making contact ive seen it sniff at a false drian and say there is nothing at home when in fact there was 2 in it.ive seen my best bitch at the time barking down the wrong tube when dug to the fox sat behind her. ive seen a bull x terrier eat one fox in a large drain yet sit baying at the one behind it.ive seen proven dogs fail ive seen bayers fail ive seen very hard dogs fail. we as dog men strive for the best, if we have a good finder but steady dog then you put a over hard dog over her trying to produce something in the middle. a dog is there to do a job yet peoples opinions of how that job is carried out and to what standards is a very big void. every dog can have a bad day thats for sure but in all honesty how many times have you checked an earth that looks bang on only for your dog to say nothing at home?? then how many times have you said to your pals no she or he says nothing so thats good enough for me yet in the back of your mind thinking f**k that looked right hope she was right.ive re checked huindreds of earths with another dog only to serve my own curiosity and to further prove or disprove a dog.you dont know that a dog has left nothing untill you check it with another do you????? continued next page Edited May 20, 2009 by darcysgimp Quote Link to post
