Guest Glenn Kilpatrick
A glorious day with temperatures in the mid 20's met the anglers as they boarded the associations fourteen boats early this morning. Anticipation was high and so far the anglers have not been dissapointed. At roughly mid stage on the first day the skippers are reporting good catches with cod to almost double figures and ling estimated to around 20 pound already been taken. Paul on sea-otter 2 has emailed me these pictures in of the early catches on his boat. More pictures and reports to follow later today - after the match. A full report will be available from the whitby charter skippers website and whitby sea anglers blog Quote Link to post
Guest Fishaben
Hi looks like a good and productive festival! Last year I went on holiday to whitby and fished the pier quite often when I was down there, that proved to be very productive for the mackeral on spinners. I caught a couple but mainly sand eel, :11:. They were big buggers though, up to about 15cm and a couple cm width, I just killed them and used them for bait. Im going down somerset this year on Hols so I'll let you all know how I get on. Ben Quote Link to post
