my best buck ever.

After tea last night I decided to go for a sit in a seat for a few hours, the farm is only very small with one little plantation on it, there is a big mature wood on the left hand side witch holds a few deer, I have shot this farm for about six years now and had some nice six point heads off it but nothing special, anyway last night I got sat in the high seat and it started to piss it down for an hour then it dried up for a while , on my left is an old fence out of my sight of view running the full length of a burn then it opens up onto a young plantation going up a ride onto a mature one, at nine o'clock I heard the fence getting rattled loudly thinking to myself that's a deer just jumped the fence, a brown shape made its way out of the thick trees and walked into the open space I couldn't believe my eyes the biggest buck I have ever seen was stood in front of me, he had a large six point head and was a big dark mature buck with a very thick neck, he walked out onto a ride and stood and sniffed the air as I placed the scope on his neck and he dropped like a stone, I was shaking like mad, realising I had just shot the biggest buck of my life, I go out of the seat still shaking and went over and had a look at him he was a monster, after cleaning him out head and legs off he weighed 45lb, and I hope he will go a medal what do you guys think alb remmy.

i put it next to a bronze head i shot in 2003 and it made that bronze look stupid so fingers crossed.

Thats a cracker Dave , looks medal to me. That high seat looks to be positioned in a lovely spot too !

 

Have you prepared the head yet ? If so what is the weight at the minute mate?

no mark its still in the chiller mate, going to do it tomorow i have cut it but not boiled it yet.
