dogman89 0
really landed in the shit here.. got the question wrong i was just wonderin should i enter my dog to fox on his own as he is 18 months now or along with another. mate i have an 18 month old dog here aswell, i plan to enter him to fox in august/sept. mine will be done single handed so he will. my own opionion is that if they cant do it by them selves then they shouldnt be doing it... good luck with your dog Quote Link to post

Guest miller1989
Ok firstly id like to add people need a chance on here and there never given it,people are always like thats a wierd question? And? Some people arent so good with spelling or asking questions and comes across the the wrong way. This is a hunting forum and where im standing it looks as if it belongs to certain people and not all the members(pathetic).New members are constantly been slated as anti's or police some are new to the game and to be honest we need them on our side! The question is easily answered to be honest because hunting hasnt been banned in England for long so its a question that could be answered from a preban dog you brought on yourself! People are too scared to express what they realy think because they wish to stay members and not be booted off here, which will likely happen to me and for what??? Being honest! I will answer any question if i know the answer and unless your caught doing something your not ment to be doing whats the worst that can happen?? Nothing they have tried and tried and never had good enough evidence! ok im finished now! Ok mate, ive also got a bitch 22months old she has took 7-8 foxes most doubled as she wasnt very mature the season gone,if i remember rightly she had two on her own was hard work! This season im also waiting untill september they will be a great size for the dogs and give alot of talk back too and im only doing it to get her going realy well! Fox tails done nothing for me and running bunnys makes it more difficult too as im sure the dog will get a fright when it goes in soft on fox like they do bunnys and get a nip or two. After running bunnys it took alot of work to get her on to fox, stop running bunnys asap i had to as the first fox she coursed and wasnt interested in pulling it after a nip, gutted! Trapped some mink and let her take them she was doing well after 4 months of mink and no rabbiting she was raring to go prey drive sky high and summersaults on lead, got the oppertunity of mr charlie and doubled her up she was first there and took alot of stick but never gave it,found the right place to take a hold and that was that we done 7 more 2 herself! fingers crossed for next season! I would consider stop running bunnys from now, only advice i can give or i doubt he/she will be a world beater! ATB Quote Link to post

Good luck with your bitch. Quote Link to post

She will make the grade but she isnt guna be a world beater by no mean, but sure to do her job thats all im bothered about, but if you were to ask about or get a decent reply if its just bigger quarry your guna run him on rabbits is not the way forward,it will help you in the long run if you dont do anything with him untill september when there a good size! fenman1# 724
you have done the best thing holding him back thats what ruins most dogs bein entered to young, i left my dog till he was 18 months to take his first fox on his own but when he was around 14 to 15 months i gave him him a couple dead to rag then a month or so later i gave him a couple with my brother stag bitch then when 18 month came i entered on his own and i havent looked back since, i go to waterford every winter for a few weeks my family and close friends run a pack of hounds and he does me well every year and hes a 3/4 whippet 1/4 greyhound your dog has irish terrier and wheaton in it so he should be grand, he sounds like a nice cross any pictures of him, i hope he goes well for you anyway pal atb fenman Quote Link to post
