i have done a bit of ratting with him , he just needs to settle down a bit he gets a bit carried away . but a really keen pup coming on well

Moorman, top pic is the father. Hes 7 years old now. I had him up too about 5 months ago and gave him too a mate who lost his two terriers. Towards the end of the season he had a good few digs in with him. No pics of the bitch unfortunately but shes a nice handy bitch also

Agree with allgame, different sizes for different jobs. I prefer larger dogs for the larger game I hunt. Coons with a 11in 12lb dog, drag them down the hole and eat them. Hunted with a 8lb probably 10in patt male on coon once. He is a nutria killer, but on small (15-20lb) coon, a bayer type, probably good for his survival. I need dogs that can put on enough pressure to move the critters. Not getting into the hard vs. soft debate, but a small hard dog won't last too many seasons on 30lb coon. I prefer dogs with enough lead in the ass to get the job done. My small dogs are 13in 15-16lbs. Too big they can't fit, but where we hunt, I've seen Airedales get in the action......

Here's my little working Sealyham/Russell. She's 12" and not much over 12lbs-13lbs, but there's plenty of oomph behind her when she gets going. Although she's a little long in the back (Sealyham style) her legs are as long as her body is tall, she's just that inch longer in the spine. She can get almost anywhere, though when we're out ratting she'll happily walk past a rabbit warren after casually telling me it's occupied. I almost wish it was that easy to drag her away from other stuff at times

 

Although she's a sensible little thing she's also an absolute cow if you happen to have fur and don't bark... I have to be really careful with her now; despite being small she managed to throttle the neighbour's (adult) cats to death one day without breaking sweat

 

Never a sound out of this one unless she can't reach or it's big quarry. I can't wait to see her go next season when I try her on some proper digs - then we can really see what she's made of

been to a couple of shows this spring and is it me or are the terriers getting bigger?

some of them would struggle to get through a garage door let alone any where else.

i have a smaller patterdale terrier bitch solid as a rock but stands no more than 11" anybody else keep a smaller terrier

are these small enough

this is my cousens little terrier,its not a working dog but its a little bugger for digging, if he points to a spot on the floor in his gardens an shouts get on it just starts digging theres holes all over his garden. nearly forgot to say its around 10 inch tts

shes a cracker mate! ive got a russell dog like her hes game as they come and can get into the tight spots. how old is the bitch?
