Swampy 147
How many people live in council homes and have brought them? Aye, and how many people are stuck in cramped council properties far too small for their families, or in private lets with extortionate rents, because the Tories didn't make provision to replace those which were sold? The Tories wanted rid of the concept of social housing, claiming they wanted to turn us all into a 'nation of home-owners', well that was bollocks more like a nation of landlords & tenants, with the gap between rich & poor getting all the wider... have you heard on stephen crabs expenses...........hes gonna get the boot for it im sure I haven't TBH mate, I'll have a look. EDITED: Stephen Crabb Oh dear, looks like he's right in the shit. trouble is its only the tories that would bring back hunting isnt it? My UKIP nominee is not adverse to hunting! PS An English thread full of Welsh and Scottish knockers of England. Come on. We're just as proud to be English we're just a bit more modest ! Please note I used the word modest as opposed to conservative! MP are rotten to the core, have been for years. Wilson, Heath, Thatcher Kinnock, Major the whole 'kin lot of them. But will anyone vote them out? Will they fek! "I've voted Labour all my life as did my father and his father. I ain't gonna change now" Seems to be the attitude here. FFS. We should be saying enough is enough. Vote UKIP or some other minority independant and give the big three a wake up call! A period of civil disobedience wouldn't go amiss either! Swampy Ninging the red flag!
shepp 2,285
As painful as it may have been without the reforms Thatcher carried out, the unions which had brought the country to it's knees would have left us as a third world county. She is the only leader in modern times to actually have the balls to carry through what she planned and she had more love and patriotism for Britain in her little finger than the whole of these snivilling, muslie munching, champaign socialist Labour MP's put together. Now I can understand any animosity an Irishman has for Britain, yes Britain, we were all in it forget that celtic brother shit that's re-invented history. But how the Welsh and Scottish can spout there bile is beyond me, it's like me hating the Italians for the Romans invading or hating the Swedish for the Vikings invading. F*****g Pathetic! Fair point, with the exception of Thatcher being patriotic. She was a firm advocate of the EU and did more to get us "in" than many before her. She may have done it under the auspices of patriotism believing that we should be in the "inner sanctum" of brussells. The Falklands was without doubt a piece of fortuitous luck for her. It diverted the attention of a poor/collapsing economy at home whilst promoted and stirring national unity in a fight thousands of miles away that to be honest we were never going to lose. However, she was a ballsy charismatic leader who did not flinch from the task at hand. Had her policies been better she would without doubt been the greatest PM this Britain has ever seen. My opinion. To be argued Swampy Ninging for No

jimmy0211 2
there aint no black in the union jack Do you have to be white to be English then? yes, of course you do. In that case there is probably around 3 million English people living in England and half of them probably have a non white partner or child. A few more generations and there will probably be no "english" in England. I think Its a ridiculous statement to say you have to be white to be english! a bit racist too. When I was a child I alwas thought the typical English man was coloured from watching the soccer Internationals. I always knew the scots and welsh were white. I know the original english dont have any real culture of their own left but fair play to you for embracing the cultures of other lands. Variety is the spice of life they say. so if your black your english?? how can you be english if your black or brown or any other colour other than white? english people dont have black kids...FACT
Hollie 21
there aint no black in the union jack Do you have to be white to be English then? yes, of course you do. If thats the case then i had better f*ck off............but where do i go, i was born in England, as was my mother, father and grandmother, great grandmother etc, HOWEVER my grandfather was African American who got my grandmother pregnant when he was over here training with the forces..............so my dad and myself are mixed race, does that mean i shouldn't be in this country because i am not 'pure' white? Who's 'you's'? I don't! Like I said, don't blame the rest of us for the f**k-ups made by our past and presant stupid leaders. And no, I didn't vote for them, before you ask. The only lesson that can be learned from history, is that folks don't learn from history! Do not judge us all as a nation based on the cock-ups from the past due to the actions of the tossers in power. Edited May 18, 2009 by andyfr1968
