CAI Opposes Sinn Féin call to Ban Fox Hunting and Hare Coursing

Thursday, 26 February 2009

Sinn Féin passed a motion at the recent Ard Fheis calling on the party to Ban all Blood Sports including Fox Hunting and Hare Coursing. This motion was opposed by a large number of delegates. This stance has now been adopted is now party policy.

We urge all members throughout Ireland to defend our right to carry out our traditional country sports and to make their views known to all Sinn Féin, TD’s, MLA,s, MEP's and local councillors. All country sports organisations will go forward together and work with those Cumann who support Fox Hunting and Hare Coursing to overturn this policy at the next Ard Fheis.

With the European Elections on the horizon this is an ideal opportunity for our members to make their voices heard and to lobby all Sinn Féin candidates on this issue.

Vote DUP if your up North their 100% pro hunting :)

Republican or Nationalist hunting people voting for the DUP,somehow I cannot see that happening.

RIGHT had a chat with my local sinn fein man.he told me they are only against hare hare coursing and that they arnt against any other hunting.i told him that they are only jumping on the band wagon and following the english gov.he wasnt too happy to hear thr truth,i asked him were they goin public to announce this to the public and he said no ,so draw your own conclusions to that .They certainly wont get my vote this year or my familys vote

a ban on hunting in their policy was passed but wasnt opposed because martin ferries (spelling) wasnt their to oppose it at their next meeting this poicly will be struck out i have went to a county conciller in my area who is a sinn fein and this is what he told me he said that he hunts and other members of the party hunt so how could he be anti hunting it was a mistake because it wasnt opposed at the meeting but will be fired out at the next meeting in september

i have heard that Mr. Ferris is not in favour of the ban but is has been taken as a party pollicy to ban blood sports ???????????

martin ferris is not in favour of it how can i explain it a bit better a young councilor put the motion foward at the meeting and their wasnt anyone their to oppose it because martin ferris was held up and couldnt make it if he was their this would not have been passed .i have been promised it will be struck out at their next meet.it makes no diffrents to me who you all vote for.but this is something that needs to be cleared up.
