Fourth for Feks sake. Italy are on a par with you lot now!

World cup finalists twice 2003 and 2007. Where were wales?

As for Jonny Wilko being a one trick pony HA!

The man burnt himself out with his commitment. His defense was second to none. He would have been selected even if he couldn't kick. I seem to recall J Davies was selected for his superior kicking game and look what that did to Welsh Rugby? You haven't been able to run a ball since ( well perhaps the last three years at most).

Remember its a tournament. From 1st to fourth. Now thats what I call consistent!

Accept it Welsh Rugby has and never will be as good as it was in the 70s.

I haven't fecking finished with your last post yet...

I believe it was an Enlish club that won the league this season and I believe it'll be an English club that'll win the european cup next week.

Which fecking league was that? :hmm: The only league that English teams are involved in is the Guinness premiership, seeing as though it's only English teams in it, it goes without saying that an English team is going to win it.

Cardiff Blues absolutely hammered Gloucester 50 points to 12 in the final of this years EDF Energy cup final.

(Anglo/Welsh cup)

..and club Rugby is irrelevant these days with regards to the state of the international game. If we take football as an example, teams from the English league has dominated the champions league for the last 4 or 5 years, it's hardly done wonders for the national side, has it?

Sorry, but Rugby Union is a subject close to my heart, and I think I'll leave it where it is, as I've no wish to get into a heated debate with somebody unless they actually know what they're on about.

Go Ning about something else... :bye:

Glad I got your attention.

So where were Wales in the last two world cups?

Wales have not been a force measure in International rugby for many a year.

Whilst you lot fanny about baning on about grand slams and other minor tournaments. England concentrate on the bigger issues of world cups.

Come 2011 where will wales be?

Wales are f*****g shit at League..... :whistling:

England aren't that great at it either.. :whistling:

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

All jokes aside, I don't know a great deal about league, but I did like the fact that it was one of the few team sports that had a permanent GB team.

Shame they broke it up IMO.

League has always had real difficulty in breaking out of the regional heartland of Lancs/Yorks.

A shame, because it's a good sport to watch, plenty of running, hard tackles and skill. Union going pro didn't help.....

I guess I can see where you're coming from Tom, it was an interesting thread but I'll hold my hands up & say that, I've played my part in the thread going off topic.

In the two years I've been here I've found it rare for any thread to stick to topic, and TBH it's never been a problem.

I can't remember who started the banter, but it's usually the case with a thread regarding Wales/the Welsh, that the decade old sheep jokes start flying out.

Rather than get on our high horses about it, we have the craic about it & respond in kind. Would you rather us spit our dummies out and have a rant about it like I've seen yourself do, not only on this site but others?

You're a sensible & knowledgeable bloke Tom, most of what you write makes you come across as a very intelligent & interesting chap, but then every now & again you like to throw your toys out of the pram when there's absolutely no need for it.
