If the weather looks like it could turn before I go out, then I take the HW77, if its dry I take the HW100k, thats why I keep the springer, easy to sort out if anything goes wrong, and cheap.

Same here but if i do take the s410 i do as hyperion says only ferck taking the scope off way to much bother.

Same here went out thursday checked the rimmy was spot on,pl;anninga bit of lamping been hissing down since then ,same last weekend when my sons off poured down the whole weekend

i really dont understand what it is about airgunners and the rain!

 

you wont melt if you get wet you know!!!!!!!, and nor will your rifle if you clean it properly and dry it out before you put it away!

 

rain or shine if ive planned to go out then i do!

Hi hyperion.. What advice would you give to us airgunners with regards to gun care before and after going out in the rain ?

 

I dont mind getting wet, but I do worry about the gun afterwards in case I dont get it drired properly and starts to rust in places I dont see..

 

if its had a really good soaking then.................

 

action out of the stock (using the proper tools for the job)

 

scope and mounts off!

 

blot the whole lot with kitchen paper and leave some where warm but not hot to dry

 

wipe down with an oily cloth and lube as needed

 

reasemble and rezero!

 

if i know im going out in the rain ill give the gun a good coating of oil before i go out!

managed to get out this afternoon even though it was showery, the forecast was crap so was lucky to shoot these

I have taken the stock off and coated the bits I cant get at with a film of spray chain grease used for bikes. This way I only have to check it every once in a while.
