posh shooting club in devon with a semi?

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Just pulled off a new job in north devon this morning starts tommorrow.... wicked..... nice boss, 20 mins from the waves, new shooting grounds?

Never being one for clays, up until now was perfectly happy to look after local pigeon problem in essex, all good and still can but looking to start shooting in north devon, although able to pop a few where i work i was wondering if anyone could recomend a shooting centre for a few clays on the weekend (when there's no surf :)

not being a member of a club before, recently selling my over and under for the pennies, will i be shunned if i walk it to a club with my 8 shot semi auto? its the only shotty i have for the immediate future, though if required i suppose i could keep my eye out for a cheap russian side b side! failing that i've an old 410 that i bought for £50,

What do you think,

Happy to meet anyone in the area looking to meet new friends to shoot with,

Cheers

You can't use an FAC Auto for clays unless your FAC says so ;)

Not much to add to this other than, SEMI`S ARE SOMETIMES NOT ALLOWED AT CLAY SHOOTS. I would ask first. Save any embarrassment.

I have a Baikal 12g old as F**k twin trigger n all, drop clays all the time.. ;)

Let the other lads have a go and they couldn’t hit a barn door from 10 paces. :D

It isn’t the cost of the gun it’s the person on the trigger mate, I have read countless times of people buying expensive guns only to find that they can’t shoot for peanuts with it.

I have also read that some guns out perform expensive guns no end.

My Baikal is a cheap work a day gun fixed choke n all. I picked it up 2nd hand for £150. I will never let it go.

Good luck. :D

I'm not a shotgun user so don't take this as gospel! Remington now sell a range of shotguns sourced in Russia under the name "Spartan". From what I've read on the web they are cheap and cheerful. U/O 12b about 200 quid, shoots a tight pattern, nice ribbed top barrel, decent woodwork. Worth taking a butchers methinks.
